The OIS Rainbow Cultural Society was founded August 11th, 2000 out of the Social Group, Out in Surrey. The non-profit Society raises funds for various charities throughout the Fraser Valley with particular emphasis on G.L.B.T.Q. charities in Surrey and the local area.
As of November 2007, the OIS Rainbow Cultural Society has refocused its efforts to provide Socials, Youth Scholarships and Pride to accom-modate a growing community, while still supporting the Imperial Court of Surrey (E.P.A.M.A.) and the Surrey Youth Alliance (S.Y.A.).
Our goals over the next few years will be to expand and include more members of the G.L.B.T.Q. based on equality and inclusion for all. It will also be a mandate of this organization to create the opportunity to secure year round fundraisers to put on PRIDE each July.
We will in the next few months create the criteria and application form to offer Youth Scholarships to members within our community.
